Randall Diamond for City Council

I’m Randall Diamond and I am running for City Council here in Saratoga Springs - thank you for your consideration. I am focused on fixing traffic issues, improving safety, and adding more recreational options. I believe in clear communication, new ideas, and taking action.

 

Wherever I’ve lived, I’ve been deeply involved in building community. Over the last 15 years, I have served as Board President for a Mosquito Control agency, on a Regional Hospital’s Governing Board, and as a Commissioner for City Parks. I also graduated from the Saratoga Springs Citizens’ Police Academy, which gave me a better understanding of local safety concerns. My involvement led to Special Congressional Recognition for helping the community.

 

To prepare for City Council, I’ve studied city plans and spoken with residents about their top issues. As a proactive leader I commit to helping the city grow while maintaining its great reputation.

 

From a policy perspective, my focus is on improving our town for today and into the future. While the State and County have supported transportation expansion, I will prioritize advocating for quicker solutions to our traffic issues. I also plan to push for better infrastructure, including backup water systems to prevent disruptions. 

 

With over a decade in parks, recreation and arts, I bring experience to the City. I will work on expanding Patriot Park and adding amenities like an amphitheater to promote the arts and to enhance the places that bring our community together. I'll also support creating more regional parks, growing arts, and enhancing recreational opportunities for everyone in Saratoga Springs. 

 

Economic growth is essential for keeping property taxes low. I will work to reduce taxes if appropriate, while ensuring responsible financial management.

 

At home, I’ve been married for 15 years and we have a daughter in 6th grade and a son at the University of Utah. Professionally, I’ve founded a software company, was Managing Director at O.C. Tanner, and now work as Vice President of Customer Success at a software development company.
